Treatment of the harmful emissions of industrial enterprises and manufactures
Protection of air pollution from industrial emissions is one of the global environmental issues. Every year, the atmosphere gets more than a thousand tons of industrial dust and noxious gaseous substances.
- The main sources of air pollution:
- manufacturing enterprises, particularly chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical plants;
- heat-producing installations: heat power plant, heating and industrial boilers;
- transport, especially automobile transport.
Atmospheric air pollution by emissions of industrial enterprises leads to a significant reduction in solar radiation, reduction of visibility, illumination, to increase of fog, which affects the environment and human health. Various pollutants in combination with other environmental factors damage materials, structures, in particular, buildings of great artistic and historical value are subjected to the destruction.
Without special measures aimed at reduction of air pollution, emissions can be a source of serious environmental degradation, and the expansion and steady growth of vehicle volume only exacerbates the current situation.
As measures for reduction of air pollution we use the absorption by liquids, solid adsorption, catalytic, and other plasma-chemical methods of cleaning. The use of different methods depends on the physicochemical properties of the pollutant, its aggregate state, the concentration in the treated environment
Our company offers a comprehensive solution of dust-gas cleaning problem at industrial plants and tunnels - gas treatment complex «GROK».
The first gas treatment complex «GROK», developed by our company, has been applied to systems of road tunnels “Serebryanyj Bor”. The gas treatment system of tunnel consisted of 4 «GROK». Performance of each complex was 1 200 000 m3 / h of air, while the efficiency of purification from carbon oxides and nitrogen oxides reached 95%.
In the gas treatment system, proposed by our company,we apply the technology of plasma-catalytic air cleaning which forms the basis for a series produced industrial gas-cleaning installations. Plasma-catalytic gas purification method is a relatively new method of treatment combining two well-known methods - plasma-chemical and catalytic.
Plasma-catalytic air cleaning is the most efficient and cost-effective modern technology of gas treatment.
Typical example of the gas-cleaning complex «GROK»:
The gas-cleaning system "GROK" is meant for purification of emissions from solid particles and noxious gaseous substances of the organic nature: phenol, formaldehyde, hexane, styrene, toluene, xylene, acrolein, butanol, fatty acids, and toxic substances of inorganic nature: hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other toxic substances.
- Stage 1 – primary purification from dust and suspended particles. During the first step of dust-cleaning the air flow goes through the filters of rough (primary) treatment based on non-woven filters of class G3 (EU3) - G4 (EU4) (according to State Standard R 51251-99 and the European standard EN 779).
- Stage 2 – fine primary purification from suspended particles and aerosols. During the second stage the air flow goes through ultrafine filters based on polyester textile filters of class F5 (EU5) (according to State Standard R 51251-99 and the European Standard EN779).
- Stage 3 – plasma-chemical destruction of hazardous components of ventilation emissions.
- Stage 4 – catalytic decomposition of gaseous pollutants.
- Stage 5 – finishing cleaning, neutralization of industrial ozone and conversion of the residual carbon monoxide.
Gas-cleaning is carried out in several stages:
Having passed through the finishing block the purified air is emitted into the atmosphere.
Structures of gas-treatment systems meet the work safety requirements (for all types of hazard according to State Standard 12.2.003-74)
- 81.5% from carbon oxides.
- 83,6% from nitrogen oxides: composition of nitrogen oxides and nitrogen dioxide - oxidation products of air nitrogen.
- 80-95% from dust particles with a median size greater than 5 microns (dust from coal mines, metallurgical large dust and sublimates, plant pollen, spores, soot, fluff).
- 45-60% from dust with a median particle size of 1-3 microns (sublimates of zinc oxides, fine dust, oil spray).
- 20% from particles smaller than 1 micron (the natural fog, tar fog, aerosols from chemical plants, and dust from polishing).
- other.
The treatment effectiveness according to Russian Technical Supervisory Authority is the following:
Distinctive features of the system:
- gas-treatment complex consists of separate modules;
- operating temperature: maximum plus 40 ° C; minimum minus 30 ° C;
- productivity: from 600 000 m3 / h up to 1 200 000 m3 / h;
- explosion hazard: non-explosive;
- fire hazard: non-flammable;
- purification efficiency: 75-98%;
- individual constructional solution allows to mount the GROK complex in small premises;;
- GROK complex in the intermediate stage of purification synthesizes ozone, therefore, in parallel with the air clearing from harmful toxic substances occurs deep bacterial disinfection of the air;
- the system is easy to use.
