Active fire protection systems
LLC «Project Bureau» conducts all activities aimed at the fire safety ensuring of buildings, extremely dangerous, technically difficult and unique objects.
Activities aimed at fire safety ensuring are carried out in two related fronts: the active fire protection and fire prevention.
Active fire protection
Fire protection covers all measures for fire elimination and damage minimization in case of fire.
Proposed works:
- Object examination;
- Designing of an automatic fire alarm system;
- Fire warning systems;
- Design of fire-extinguishing systems;
- The design of fire-water supply;
- Automation and dispatching of a set of fire safety and integration with engineering systems of an object;
- Drafting and approval of technical documentation on all design stages according to the existing normative documents;
- Effective selection of equipment for security systems and packaged supply of domestic or imported devices;
- Installation and start-up of mounted equipment for fire alarm systems, warning systems and fire extinguishing systems;
- Maintenance of fire protection systems. Timely repairs and restoration of effective working capacity in a short period of time.
Fire prevention
Fire prevention is aimed at fire exclusion through the adoption of preventative measures for elimination of fire risk and realization of the scheduled operations for examination of installed system working efficiency.
Proposed works:
- Development of job descriptions;
- Calculation of the conditions for safe evacuation;
- Development of evacuation plans;
- Formulation of people warning in case of emergency.
Object examination
- identification of categories of buildings and premises under the fire regulation 110-03 «The list of buildings to be protected»;
- identification of categories of premises under the fire regulation 105-03;
- development of special requirements in view of the complexity of objects;
- estimated evaluation of the design solutions for fire protection proposed to the customer.
Systems of automatic fire alarm and warning of fire
Fire alarm system is installed as an additional protective measure for fire safety insurance, as well as for the management of engineering and fire-fighting systems of an object. Automatic fire alarm (AFA) is installed in all the facilities of an object according to the fire regulation 88-2001.
The main objectives of AFA are:
- Fire detection at an early stage;
- The precise definition of the fire location;
- Prompt transfer of the data concerning the AFA (fire, fault) system condition to the observation;
- Timely switching of fire-protection system and fire-warning.
The fire-warning system is able to accept the alarm signal form the fire alarm system and transmit a fire warning signal to the specified areas with an absolute priority over other operational modes.
The warning signal is transmitted to the specified areas through the special emergency alarm panel or by means of a microphone connected to it, or by means of a playback device which has a function of automatic switching with previously recorded text.

In the design of fire-alarm and fire-warning systems, our company uses certified equipment of Russian and foreign manufacturers, such as «Bolid», «Rubeg», «Argusspektr», «Securiton», «Esmi», «Aritech», «System Sensor» etc.
The selection and use of equipment depends on the characteristics of a specific object, the possibility of integration with other subsystems of ISS, such as alarm monitoring and access control system etc.
Fire-extinguishing systems
Design, fabrication, installation, adjustment and maintenance of fire extinguishing systems shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of State Standard 12.3.046-91, State Standard 12.3.046, State Standard 15150, Electrical Safety Rules, Fire Regulations 54-01, Fire Regulations 88-2001 *, normative and technical documentation and technical conditions for the installation of a particular type.
Fire-fighting primary means
As the fire-fighting primary means the fire extinguishers are used.
The selection and installation of fire extinguishers shall be conducted in accordance with the requirements of State Standard 51017-97, State Standard 949-73, State Standard 26952-86, Fire Regulations 155-02.
When selecting the type and quantity of the fire-fighting primary means our specialists take into account: the external factors, flammable characteristics of combustible materials, size and type of the protected premises, operating temperature range, resistance to vibration loads.
Automatic fire-extinguishing units
Automatic fire-extinguishing unit is an fire-extinguishing unit which is automatically triggered when the fire threshold value in a protected zone exceeds the controlled factor (ÍÏÁ 88- 2001) (Fire Regulations 88 - 2001)
Automatic fire-extinguishing units are divided:
- by design - int the sprinkler, drench, aggregate, modular units;
- by the type of fire-extinguishing means - water, foam, gas, powder;
- by the way of fire-extinguishing and appointment – total and partial flooding.

The need for application and type of the used equipment depends on the level of fire danger of a specific object in view of the speed of fire development in an early stage and economic feasibility of their use in accordance with State Standard 12.1.004.
In the design of fire extinguishing systems, our company uses the equipment of the following companies: Garant, Du Pont, LPG, Viking, GRUNDFOS, GRINNELL, etc.
Fire-fighting water supply
Fire fighting water supply - ensures the object with the required water volume under the necessary pressure during standard time for fire extinguishing.
The design of fire protection water supply system shall be carried out in accordance with construction norm and specifications 2.04.02-84 and 2.04.01-85.
Automation and dispatching of the fire protection complex and its integration with the engineering systems of an object
Automation and dispatching of engineering systems allow to improve the security of an object, through the timely prevention of emergency situations, to avoid the effects of "human factor" and reduce the cost of servicing and maintenance.
Dispatching allows to send necessary data from one or more automated systems of distant sites to the control station by means of a unified data transmission network. It is used for conjunction of engineering systems of long-distant objects (eg, tunnels) and for conjunction of systems of one or a set of structures.
Automated dispatch system provides:
- round-the-clock monitoring of all engineering systems,
- preventing of emergency situations,
- on-line detection of accidents or inflamation at the initial stage,
- remote settlement of abnormal situations,
- management of safe evacuation of personnel,
- monitoring of fire suppression and development,
- minimize the consequences of fire elimination,
- event logging and building reports.
- the order for up- keeping of the area, buildings and facilities, including escape routes;
- measures for fire-safety ensuring during manufacturing processes, equipment operation, fire dangerous works;
- extreme readings of controlling instruments (pressure gages, thermometers, etc.), deviations from which could cause a fire or explosion;
- responsibilities and actions of employees in case of fire, including:
- rules for calling of fire protection service;
- emergency stop procedure of manufacturing equipment;
- shut-off procedure of ventilation and electrical equipment;
- application rules of fire-fighting means and automatic fire fighting systems;
- evacuation procedure of combustible material and material values;
- inspection procedure and arrangement of fire safety condition of all premises of an object (enterprise).
Job descriptions development
Development of job descriptions (documents) on specific functional responsibilities of personnel responsible for fire safety of an object: responsibility for protection of people in case of fire, instructions for maintenance of evacuation routes and fire protection equipment, the use of fire-extinguishing means, etc.
According to Fire Regulations 01-03, the instructions on fire safety measures need to reflect the following issues:
Calculation of the conditions for safe evacuation
Calculation of the conditions for safe people evacuation is in accordance with State Standard 12.1.004-91: the probability calculation of fire development, the probability of rejection of technical devices, the calculation of evacuation time, the time evaluation of the critical hazards of fire, the calculation of the escape route, the calculation of the fire development model in the premises.
